Quotes!
There was never a good war or a bad peace.
Ben Franklin (1706-1790)
If you want to make peace, you don't talk to your friends. You talk to your enemies.
Moshe Dayan (1915-1981)
CAC Peace Day!
On Thursday 20th of September we all were supposed to wear white shirts to show that we support peace and alot of people did. We also got points for spirit week for doing this. We also made a huge peace sign out on the field and had a picture taken. This was all done to support peace day.
This video is trying to show you how bad it can be without peace.
Most of this video is also talking about the Iraqi war that is goin on right now and how we can prevent it. She also writes the lyrics and you can see that she directs some of her lines to the people in Iraq. The artist is Esther Sparks. Song is Peace.
International Relations
I am currently enrolled in a class called International Relations. This class talks about what's going on in the world. Last week we visited the 3rd grade class of 3M. We met all of them and made posters about peace. This was just to see how they were and what they could do. This was one of our first activities with them. The next class we went and presented some power points to them about the dropping of the nuclear bombs in Japan. We would present then they would etc. I did a power point on the relations Japan and U.S. still have. The media says they are still allies but i dont think so. We also learned about a book called "Sadako and the 1000 paper cranes". It is about a girl who was affected by the radiation of the A-bomb which was dropped on Hiroshima. If she makes 1000 paper cranes she gets to make a wish. At the end of the book she dies.
Nuclear Warfare
I personally think that Nuvlear Warfare is very wrong and should not be promoted. This is why i posted the movie Peace. Nuclear Warfare really has no good effects except that the country that deployed it now has a huge mass of land for themsleves. Nukes can kill millions of people. Not just immediatly but also after a couple of years because of the radiation. About 70,000 died immediatly then another 140,000 died from radiation and other affects.
